Parents had an opportunity to tour the exhibit during the PTSA meeting on November 10, 2009. Walker Mill Serves was part of our Quarterly Thematic Unit that provided the students with an opportunity to build community within our school. Our first quarter activity was a lesson on the RED CROSS and how they as students could be of service to their community and each other. Research shows that students who participate in community service are more likely to attend college and continue to serve as adults.<br /><br />The students planned a clothing and food drive that is ongoing until Thanksgiving Break.
